The Govt of Pondicherry has entered into an agreement with Karaikal Port Private Limited (KPPL) to develop a Greenfield port at Karaikal, KPPL entrusted L&T-RAMBOLL for the design of multipurpose berths B1 and B2.
The berths are designed to handle coal and general cargo of about 65,000 DWT vessel size. The structural dimensions are 460m length and 21.5m width, Deck top level of (+)4.00m CD with dredge depth of (-)15.3m will handle coal and general cargo
