Presently, JSWJPL is proposing to carry out an expansion of this port with the addition of new berths. The length of the breakwater is also proposed to be increased. However, prior to this, JSWJPL wanted to establish the wave heights to be considered for the design of the breakwater. In addition to this, JSWJPL also wanted to estimate the storm surge at the port location.
JSWJPL asked L&T-Ramboll Consulting Engineers Limited to take up the study to estimate extreme wave heights at the port location and with this background, the project was done.
