Project Name: Preparation of DPR for the Improvement of 50 km of core area roads and 32 km Peripheral roads of Alappuzha Town.

Project Description: The objective of the study is to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for selected road corridors in the city of Alappuzha. Short and long term road improvement measures have been envisaged separately covering road network in the core town area and suburbs. The study for short term improvement proposal is to cover about twenty one (21) road corridors in the core town area, whereas the long term development proposal included Four (4) selected corridors located in the suburbs. The total length of roads included for the short term development (Phase-I) is about 50 Km, whereas for total road length for long term (Phase-II) development was 32 Km. Detailed Project Report included detailed geometric design of roads, design of new pavement and overlay with flexible pavements, design of minor bridges, Culverts, development of intersections and other project facilities, preparation of detailed working drawings, detailed BoQ and cost estimates, economic and financial viability analyses, environmental and social feasibility and preparation of social and environmental action plans as appropriate. It also included preparation of A Report on preservation and protection of Heritage buildings in the Town.
