L&T-IDPL has appointed L&T-RAMBOLL as their Consultants for preparation of Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the development of Sutrapada Port.
Traffic projected for the port in the initial phase is 1.9MTPA of coal, 1.2MTPA food products, 1.3MTPA fertilizer, 0.9MTPA iron and steel 2.1MTPA containers and others 1MTPA.
The port is designed to handle Panmax carriers and it is protected by two breakwater of length 1600m and 625m in the western and eastern side, respectively.
The port is planned for a total of 1 dry bulk berth, 3 multipurpose berth and 2 container berths.
The port will be developed in a land area of 1000acre.
As the site is rocky and dredging of 2.1million cu.m has to be done in the initial phase.
Navigational aids and other supporting infrastructure facilities are also provided.
