Ports and Environment department provides Comprehensive range of services which enables concept to commissioning of port projects and other marine projects. The department caters to two sectors namely Ports and Marine Structures and Environmental Studies (Follow the link to know more about each of these sectors ).
The range of services
LNTIEL’s contribution to Ports, Shipyards, Marine structures and Environment Impact Assessments have made their mark on environmentally sustained economic development over the entire 7000 km coast-line of India and important international locations as well.
The department is capable of providing services from concept to commissioning of Container Terminals, Ro-Ro Berths, Bulk Terminals, Liquid Terminals, LNG Terminals, Shipyards, OSV Facilities, Intakes and Outfalls , etc., irrespective of the size of the projects. The services offered cater to every phase of project implementation – from pre-feasibility studies to master plan including modelling and assistance in surveys and investigations, getting environmental and statutory clearances, bid process management and tender engineering, dredging, reclamation, ground improvement, detailed engineering, PMC services, inspection and rehabilitation works.

The team uses state-of-art software such as STAAD-Pro, MIKE21, TELEMAC systems, SWAN, CORMIX, BREAKWAT, GEOSLOPE, PLAXIS, OPTIMOOR, GRL Weep, L PILE, Clarkson Register, etc., to model and simulate various physical and environmental conditions and structural responses for optimum planning, design and management of facilities.
LNTIEL is one of the few consultants with its own Ocean Engineering and Waterways Modelling Software and experts to operate and interpret them.
Registrations & Empanelment
The Ports & Environment Department is Registered/empanelled with: Ministry of Shipping, India; NABET; State Maritime Boards of India; Funding Agencies; World Bank; Asian Development Bank; African Development Bank and other public and private sector agencies. This is in addition to LNTIEL’s registration/empanelment with North-India, NHAI, & other agencies.
