Project Name: Comprehensive Traffic and Transportation Study for Pune Metropolitan Region

Project Description: To cater to the increased travel demand for current and future population and to identify the transport improvement proposals for next 30 years, Pune Metropolitan Development Authority (PMRDA) has commissioned “Comprehensive Traffic and Transportation Study (CTTS) for Pune Metropolitan Region”.

The study aims to prepare the long-term transport strategy for Pune Metropolitan Region (PMR) and identify a practicable and effective investment program up to 2047 in line with the National Urban Transport Policy, 2006. The study area for the current study is PMR. It spreads over an area of 7,356 sq.km with a population of about 73.25 lakhs as per 2011 census. It comprises of two municipal corporations i.e. Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad, three cantonment areas i.e. Pune, Khadki and Dehu Road and seven municipal councils i.e. Lonavala, Talegaon Dabhade, Alandi, Rajgurunagar, Chakan, Shirur and Saswad.
